I live in the state of North Carolina and the person I'm going to sue is in the state of Minnesota. The contract was drawn up signed and notarized by the state of North Carolina by both parties. Since then this person has moved to Minnesota. The contract states "This agreement shall be construed and governed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina". Would I still have to go to the state of Minnesota or under this clause can I sue from North Carolina?
