"Damn those hippies"...........??????.....…

Haha okay so my friend and i were at a festival downtown and an older man walked up beside us, looked at us strange and says "damn those hippies, damn them." hahaha it was pretty funny especially considering where i live there is TONS of hippies like TONS, but my question is why do people despise hippies? Do you like hippies or do you despise them like the majority?
