Will the media help me against Veterans Affairs Admin?

I had surgery to fix a service connected disability 21/Dec/2010 and applied for temporary 100% disability for the surgery and recovery. The initial recovery ended on 14/Feb/2011 when the doctor told me I could go back to work. Exactly 1 month later the condition returned and I went in for another surgery on 14/Mar/2011. The VA sent me a letter saying that they were only going to apply 100% for the first month. The only thing i can find in my medical records that could be construed as justification to end the benefits would be that my pain had ended 1 month after the surgery. The condition I have is extremely dependent upon wound care which is exactly the reason the doctor would not let me go back to work. Here I am at the end of month 3, still not healed or cleared for work after the 2nd surgery. I am now broke without a job and unable to work. Do you guys think a little media coverage would help or hurt me?
