Can my roommates force me to get rid of my dog?

you your roommates can not force you to get rid of your dog ... you have followed the proper channels to have the dog in the building by telling the landlord and paying the pet deposit ... and a dog is considered property ... your roommates could not force you to get rid of your computer, it is the same thing ... and not to be rude to the stupid roommates but this is your dead fathers dog, where is their compassion ??? i would be direct but not rude to them that the dog will be staying ... tell them the dog is the most important reminder you have of your father and will not be getting rid of him ... see if the roommates would be willing to sit down and come to some rules regarding the dog ... if not, i would move ... and i don't say that lightly as i don't think you should have to move but when i was 20 years old i lived with roommates who did not like my dog and more than 20 years later i found out that they abused my dog when i was not there ... i would not feel comfortable leaving my dog with haters which is the only reason i would suggest you move ...
