Could someone PLEASE make sense of this?!?

don't agree with the way he's treating you and to be honest relationships should stay clear of facebook. But, the fact that you unfriended him while you "were on a break" (famous words), was a little childish on your part. you should sit down and talk face to face if you ever want to make this work. Not trying to be harsh but you have both acted slightly pathetic and you both need to discuss it like adults if you want to be together.
