How can I get rid of this google reader notification?

So, Ive got an lg optimus t with android 2.2. (froyo) For some reason, every time I look at a forum or anything that could remotely be construed as an rss feed, a little orange thing pops up in the notification bar and I have to "clear" to get rid of it. It says "click here to subscribe to this feed using google reader." I dont want to subscribe. I dont even have google reader app installed. I just want it to stop. Any suggestions?
