How to make my room as chill and relaxing as possible?

I need some ideas on what to add into my room, i'm into psychedelic stuff, like lava lamps, incense burning, etc. I have plants growing in my room as well, i'm into growing plants. Right now my wall is filled with posters of bands and people i like, Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, Kurt Cobain, The Doors, and so on, but my wall is white and my carpet is a relatively dark green and it just kills it for me. Do you have any good ideas for colors i should use for the carpet and walls? I want everything to be somewhat low to the ground, i have a futon that i use as a bed and a place to sit and play video games on. I have an xbox and a tv set up on a little table across from my futon. Do you have anything else i could add to make it a place to just relax and be open minded in?
